Let’s talk some about Turkey as a leader in Middle East.As known by almost everyone,Turkey is a country like a bridge where lines Europe to Asia.As a reason of its region,Turkey has never been included in a union(ME or EU) as a whole. If we were to look at history,we’d see 2 different situations;1st,it was usually included by other countries as small parts or it was more than its current size by inluding other regions.

Different and difficult thing to say about Turkey is not a standard country like France,Germany or Iran(as people, region, culture, etc.) that’s why we cannot say Turkey is easy to lead;who leads Turkey would have lots of complexities because,if you g oto East of Turkey you’ll see people as life styles, views, cultures, dances, musics, arts, etc. are completely Middle Eastern. On the other hand,I can easily say that there’s no difference between Westerns and especially South-Westerns to Greeks,Italians and also Spanish people.Food, music, style, almost everything is diffirent;so when these are reach values for us,differences might be used for making problems, kaos and unfortunately terror..

Many people are aware of last sad events,Israeli Attack to Turkish Aim Ship.As an event,I support it was not true for Israel to do so,but we have bigger problems in Turkey as we can see after this event. When some people were very angry with Israeli Government, some were angry with President Erdogan because of his hard ciriticism about IDF and Government.

Turkey is like a country shared by 2-3 groups which have huge differences on political views.

In addition Turkey’s been trying to attend for a long time, however we’re still waiting on door. It’s also hard for Europe to see Turkey as a Standard Europian Country;if they were to consider these huge differences(inside Turkey).

Now Turkey seems like a half Europian country where’s going straight ME on politics, especially after that Israeli event most people turned their faces on East.

If I was a leader of Turkey,I’d really confused a lot, because nothing is Standard and nothing is accepted by everyone on several ideas. If you were Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,would you go on supporting to get a place in EU or to act as leader for a new ME Union?

1. Good communication skill

Communication is the key to be a great leader. The reason for this is simple: if he possesses the other nine leadership qualities but if he fails to communicate well, he will never be great leader.

What he can do is communicate with others in the organization about what IT can do to move the company forward. In other words, good communication is the key for developing good business relationships. If he can’t establish a good business working relationship, he is not going to be that leader, that team player. He will not be able to communicate how IT can add long-term value to the company. The modern leaders must therefore be equipped with good communication skill and use new ways to do effective communication.

2. Honesty
The most valuable asset of a leader is honesty. He must be honest with both his employees and the management committee. Another part of his features is integrity. Once a leader compromises his or her integrity, it is lost. That is perhaps the reason integrity is considered the most admirable trait. The leaders therefore must keep it “above all else.”

3. Visionary outlook
Leadership qualities are different for different position. For a CIO he must be thinking for stabilizing the current business and always looking for future scope of expansion. He has to be able to look beyond where we are today, know where the business is going, and be able to use that vision to move the company forward. Being able to do this is a rare skill indeed.

4. Selecting a good team

A good CIO although he possesses sound technical skills he assures that the team he selects is efficient enough to back up any skill he lacks. Choosing the best people for such team is a skill. A CIO after all is a human being and does not have answer for everything. But by working together he creates an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect; the team then always find the best solution.

5.Action speaks louder than words
Managers must be able to put aside their concerns to listen to (and appear to listen to) those around them. As a result, they come know what is going on, and know what is both said, and said between the lines. They have the knack of appearing to know what people need even if those needs are not expressed directly. However, knowing what is going on, and identifying the needs of those around them is not sufficient. The responsive manager also acts upon that knowledge, attempting to help fulfill the needs of employees, superiors, etc. Responsive managers wield influence to solve problems for those around them, often before even being asked.

6. Ability to motivate people around

A good leader must always keep motivating his team mates for good work and should maintain healthy environment. He must give first priority to safety of workers and see that they are not exploited by superiors.

7. Consistency
Leadership effectiveness is impossible without consistency. Every leader has an approach that is unique to them. Don’t change your personal style radically after all; it got you in a leadership position. Modify the rough spots but take care not to confound your staff by displaying inconsistency. Your expectations, though subject to modification based on ever-changing business needs, should remain as constant as possible. The business world is confusing enough without you adding unwelcome surprises into the mix. Keep things simple and consistent.

8. Ability to stand against critics
As the success rate increases your critics multiply and become louder. Come to peace with the fact that you will always have a camp of people who critique every decision you make. They are generally the ones who are excellent problem-identifiers rather than problem-solvers. Develop your skills of repelling such critics so that they do not diminish your confidence or enthusiasm

Sometimes at school, sometimes at sports, arts,or in business life;we always need motivation. If it starts to decrease, worst thing is stay doing nothing,so what to do? How to keep or increase our motivation?

Instructions

Step 1

Focus on your goal. Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to make as much money as you can? We all know it takes hard work to accomplish these things. Whenever you notice yourself slacking (because your goal is taking too long or results are very slow) just keep thinking about the great feeling of accomplishment that lies ahead of you. Better yet, how would you and others feel once you reach that highly anticipated goal? Go on, make yourself proud.

Step 2

Talk to yourself. Keep reminding your mind and body how much of a winner you are. You will accomplish your goals no matter what it takes. No body can stop you. Instead of putting yourself down for every little test life gives you, consider it a nice challenge to surmount. You are the best you can be, and you want the world to know it.

Step 3

Drop the bad habits. How many time wasters do we have around us? Many of us may want to build a nice website or start a new eating method, but then our minds are infected by the occasional slack. It’s okay to take a break from things, but we need to remember how to get BACK in the zone. Feel like dropping out? Refer to step one of this article, my friend.

Step 4

Enough procrastination. This is one of the most powerful habits that stop us from reaching our goals. Put it this way: If you have a research paper due in five days, why wait until the 4th day to start it? Remember, you STILL have to do it regardless of the due date. Again, it’s okay to take a little break, but you just never know what obstacles are going to get on the way of a good grade at the last minute. Get things over with, and rest your mind! You’re going to love it.

Step 5

Negativity is something none of us need. When certain activities get a little tough, we start looking at the long-term disadvantages of them. “I could never achieve what they did, it took them twice as many thinking heads to accomplish this!”. Guess what: We’re all human beings here with a brain, a heart, and all other body parts intact. If Bill Gates could climb the ladder to success, why can’t you? He started like all of us would: Poor, ambitious, and with a burning desire to succeed.

Step 6

Develop a plan. Let’s say you want to shed a few extra pounds. As you’ve probably heard before, do not skip meals, for this will only lead to a greater desire to satisfy your stomach later. Why not eat small meals throughout the day, and reward yourself once a week for performing an amazing job? My point is, motivation DOES NOT constitute killing yourself over something; It only takes listening to your mind and body.

Step 7

No matter how well you think you’re doing, there will always be some obstacles on your way. Why do they get in between you and the finish line? So that you can look up, learn from them, and proceed with a new level of strength like never before. Let’s say you just had a miserable day at work by letting your colleagues down on a deadline. So what? Now you just learned another weakness, and once identified, it can surely be overcome. Show everyone what you’re really made of.

- Go on. Make yourself proud.

As you can see from Ice Berg pic,EQ is a base of our movements;if our brains’ control level is until that water line,we can’t change our IQ but it’s possible for EQ.

Emotional intelligence or “EQ” is a term that describes one’s ability ability to perceive, control, regulate, and evaluate emotions in one’s self and others. Those with high EQ tend to have more fulfilling relationships, are better leaders, and are viewed as excellent listeners. They are socially adept and tend to make people feel comfortable by the strong capacity for empathy and emotional attunement.

Unlike our “IQ”, which is based on genetics and essentially does not change, our emotionally intelligence can. Skills in empathy and emotional intelligence can help increase ones ability to connect better with others and reduce conflict.

1. Are extremely self-aware

2. Are conscious of other peoples feelings

3. Are straightforward and assertive

4. Can balance personal and work commitments well

5. Can easily put other people at ease

6. Connect with others by identifying and relating to their experiences

Getting and Giving Information

Getting and Giving Information is probably the #1 competency required of leaders. If you cannot communicate effectively, then no other leadership skill will compensate for this lack. First and foremost, you must be able to exchange information effectively and accurately.

There are three distinct aspects to communication, or getting and getting information: Getting it, retrieving it, and giving it

Understanding the Needs and Characteristics of the Group

When you come to camp, even if you come with friends, you’ll be put into a group where you won’t know anyone. Sound a little bit scarey? There’s a reason for it!

Everyone carries with them a little bit of history. At White Stag, none of that matters. Everyone has the same advantage and opportunities to be the best person they can be. There are no pre-conceptions or limitations on what you can accomplish.

Knowing and Understanding
Resources of the Group

Sounds like a mouthful, and it is. “Resources of the Group.” What are those?

That’s exactly where we want you to start thinking. Because we believe an imaginative leader thinks openly and creatively about resources. They aren’t just limited to the physical resources, but include people’s skills, attitudes, background.

We help individuals learn about member’s backgrounds and experiences is an effective technique for bringing a group together and creating commitment to common goals

Controlling the Group

A group exists for a purpose. Control is the throttle on the group’s engine—the energy that gives it direction. As a leader exerts control, he balances getting the job done and keeping the team together.

Counseling

Counseling is a private talk with someone that helps the individual with a personal problem.

Takes away minor aches and pains—common sense stuff.

What to do until the doctor arrives—help the person tell you “where it hurts” and send for help.

Setting the Example

As a leader, Setting the Example means that your public and private lives are transparent and unified. Since leadership as a property of the group, and at its essence the act of influencing a group to achieve its goals, anyone is by definition a leader. Setting the Example is one way all members can influence the group.

While a very simple competency on the face of it, none is more important. Fail to demonstrate this competency to members of your group, and you are doomed to negative results. No matter how good a line you talk, if you don’t match it with your walk, you will earn no respect and find it increasingly difficult to get the group to work with you.

Representing the Group

Representing the Group is more an art than an exact science. When the requirement to represent a group regarding a specific issue is known beforehand, then the entire representation issue is much more manageable. It’s an issue requiring decision-making skill. If you are effective at representing your group, you will positively influence their attitude, motivation, and enthusiasm.

Planning

Planning is a “core competency.” It offers a general conceptual framework to integrate a variety of related skills, including problem-solving, scheduling, time management, performance appraisal, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

Evaluation

Evaluation is, in essence, two things:

An attitude of continuous striving for higher goals.

A process for judging an individual’s or group’s completion of a task against previously identified standards.

Sharing Leadership

Sharing Leadership eadership encourages the leader to select an appropriate style of leadership based on the task, the situation, and the group relationship.

Shared problem-solving and decision-making is an increasingly prevalent aspect of successful management and leadership worldwide. This is because competitive, authortarian styles of leadership are less and less responsive to the complex challenges facing society today.

Managing of Learning

Some people want to know why this skill is called “Manager of Learning” and not “Effective Teaching”. Effective Teaching is a term coined the National Boy Scouts of America. The phrase Manager of Learning was defined by Béla Bánáthy, who conceived of the eleven leadership skills. We believe a Manager of Learning is not simply a teacher. Teaching connotes activities too typically requiring a lecture hall and a large number of desks. The phrase manager of learning is carefully chosen. The emphasis is on learning, not on what the instructor teaches. Your job, as a manager of learning, is to help the participants to become more effective leaders.

This is in the wake of the two most tumultuous years in Starbucks’ history – the same tumultuous years that faced almost every other business, including our own media businesses.

What’s so amazing to me about this is the way Schultz reacted to the “death march” of headlines and criticism he faced.

Has your company reacted the way Howard’s company has?

What you will hear is a terrific illustration of leadership in raw terms. You will hear about choices made for the good of a brand and its consumers, no matter the criticism, no matter how easy it would have been to “cut it to the bone.”

You will hear terms like “reinvestment” and “innovation.” Terms you generally don’t hear in radio.

You will hear the voice of a leader, not a manager with more excuses than guts.

“What I stand for is not just to make money, but to look in the mirror and know that you’re creating something people will respect,” says Schultz.

“You have to stand up for what you believe in.”

What do YOU believe in?

“I think;if your only goal is making money on a business, you are only a business man,but if you also care about doing your best on a specific area, then it means you try to make a value. What we should learn from Howard is that everybody who has properties enough can be managers but only people who try to make value by going on a way that they believed can be LEADERS.”

The 2010 Global IBM CEO Study was recently published. 1 541 CEOs, general managers and senior public sector leaders from 60 countries and across 33 industries are surveyed by one-on-one interviews. The four primary findings of survey are as follows:

Today’s complexity is only expected to rise and more than half of CEOs doubt their ability to manage it.

Creativity is the most important leadership quality, according to CEOs.

The most successful organisations co-create products and services with customers, and integrate customers into core processes.

Better performers manage complexity on behalf of their organisations, customers and partners.

Globalization and technology are major factors contributing to growing complexity. Leaders world-wide are experiencing high levels of complexity and uncertainty, which creates an urgent need for leadership. Given this, the survey explored what CEOs consider to be the most important leadership qualities that would be required over the next five years, the results are illustrated below.

Creativity is now the most important leadership quality for success in business, outweighing even integrity and global thinking. Creative leaders expect to make deeper business model changes to realize their strategies. To succeed, they take more calculated risks, find new ideas and keep innovating in how they lead and communicate. The more successful leaders are, when they acknowledge, are comfortable with and welcome the disruptive innovations all around them, instead of fighting these changes.
Creativity is essential when uncertainty is high and where the future is expected to be a significant departure from what we’ve known in the past. When uncertainty is high you cannot just repeat the successful practices of the past and expect similar results. You will need to find new ways of thinking, new ways of operating and new ways of behaving.
